Negativity

It's amazing how easily negatvity gets in and takes hold isn't it? Someone recently said about me behind my back that losing weight basically hasn't made me "look" any better. I know I'm no model but still, pretty harsh, I don't think I'm that bad. This really hurt and I'm finding lots of other negativity creeping in. I'm finding that I'm not seeing the weight I've lost anymore but instead seeing all the things wrong and how far I still have to go *sigh*.

Also thinking negative things about myself not to do with my weight. I'm thinking how I'm not as intelligent as some other people I know, particularly my husband and probably most of my twitter followers and possibly a lot of my friends. I'm not a complete dullard don't get me wrong but I do sometimes wish I was smarter.

Do you find that once you have 1 negative thought others start creeping in too? I have to admit it's starting to pull me into a funk. Definitely need to shake it off. Anyway it was my birthay on the 17th and I bought some new clothes so here are some pics and as usual the original ones for comparison sake. I also got more new hair and new glasses :D I'm finding it good to be improving myself in other ways as well losing weight, I also have an orthadontist appointment to see about getting my teeth fixed :D

  1. Whoever said that to you is fucking stupid or blind. Or both. I hope you snatched them bald. :)

You look AMAZING..I'm so damn jealous, I can't stand it.

  2. What a tool!! I agree with BJ, they must be blind and stupid - you are looking amazing and don't you dare let some jealous person make you feel bad about yourself. Whoever said that about you is obviously having their own issues and can't handle that you are doing so well. Don't let that awful person bring you down and put you in a funk. You deserve so much more than that. You are such a strong person, I mean look at what you have achieved, how far you have come and don't let anyone stop you from completing your journey.

Your husband is having a book published (congratulations to you both), how awesome is that!!!! I just think some people are having trouble dealing with with your successes xx

  3. Babe you know how much I adore you. It really really saddens me to read this about your thinking at the moment. There are always going to be people that you perceive to be smarter, prettier, more together then yourself. We are women after all and are constantly comparing ourselves to others. But know this hun, I totally admire you, in every aspect of your life and your beautiful soul.xoxoxo

  4. ?? who would say such a thing - I think perhaps what they meant was, her face is just as pretty now as it was beforehand and isn't she lucky that her beauty transcends any weight issues.

I know what you mean about spiralling negativity - negative thoughts are like ants, you see one and you know there are thousands more around somewhere.....

I think you have done such an amazing job to stay motivated.

    Sticks and stones eh?

  5. Bec, do not listen to them. They are not your friends. Your friends and family can see so clearly how wonderful you look,no, not just wonderful, but beautiful. As for being smart..meh, who needs it,kkk. I would rather have on my tombstone, "here is a kind person, a person who cares.' than, here lies a 'smart' person...actually they should put on it" I TOLD you I was sick!' Just look at the photos when feeling down..amazing, seriously...God bless from Korea, the 'good' Korea!

  6. Sweetheart..It is not about how we look or what we know anyway

I agree with David ..it is about how much we love and care for others.
Whoever said that about you is clearly not doing that..I know that you are..I love you (((hugs)))

  7. Oh Bec :(

I would gladly slap some sense into whoever said that about you.

I know it's human nature to compare ourselves unfairly to others... but please don't! You have so much wonderful stuff going for you, and have done an amazing job getting to where you are today. Poo to the naysayers - I can think of ruder things to say about them, but I won't. x

  8. I don't know what to say when everyone else has said what I'd like to.

    1. You look AMAZING! Seriously, I would love to look as "bad" as you do!

    2. People say shit like that because they're unhappy with their lives and they get a brief gratification by saying something nasty about someone else. That comment has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them.

    3. I feel like I'm the dumbarse in our circles so I totally empathise with you on this one. I might not be able to talk about who was in government in 1975, but I can make one hell of a double entendre. You just have to focus on your positives and enjoy the differences that your friends/family bring to the table. One of them is most likely envious of your ability to bake, be loving, show emotion, lose weight, hug, etc.

    4. You look fabulous. I can't say that enough!

    5. I got braces for our wedding, one of the most annoying decisions I ever made, but I'm glad I can smile now without covering my mouth. I just need to go get them whitened.

I know it's easier typed than done, but you need to make a list of ALL the positives and put them on the fridge and focus on them instead of the one negative. You've achieved a massive change and you look wonderful and you're a wonderful person to know. Keep up the awesome work!

  9. Hey,

I have recently had the same kind of issue but from a very jealous best friend who started losing weight at the same time as I did but she quickly gave up! People who speak like that behind your back are not worth a second thought! 9 times out of 10 someone states something nasty because they are simply JEALOUS!

You have nothing to worry about you have done an awesome job dont let someones negativity pull you down! I got to the point with my now ex best friend that she was the inspiration i needed to keep pushing myself and I continue to push myself because of her!! Sad I know!!

Keep up the totally awesome work!! Dont let anyone pull you down keep working hard and working through it all and think positive :)

    Steph
